Mass Megawatts Inks $5.8M Contract

11/20/09

Worcester-based Mass Megawatts Wind Power Inc. said it has signed a $5.8 million contract with a Pennsylvania-based architecture firm to sell equipment used in wind power projects.

Mass MegaWatts will sell equipment used in their multi-axis turbosystem, which allows wind towers to be less than 50 feet high and can operate in less windy areas compared to traditional turbines.

The contract was negotiated by Megawatts licensee Electric City Wind Power Corp., and was signed with Pennsylvania architect John Gianacopoulos, who heads a consortium of wind power investors in the Scranton area. Some of the projects have already been presented to local communities in the region.

Mass Megawatts has already completed installation of their first commercial model of their newest product in Hunder, New York after 18 months of design and field testing.
