WPI Extends Discount Program For Alumni

12/21/09

Thanks to a master's degree tuition incentive program offered by Worcester Polytechnic Institute, graduating seniors and recent alumni will have the opportunity to pursue advanced degrees at a fraction of the cost.

This accelerated master's degree program, which first was offered last year, will provide graduating seniors and alumni from WPI's classes of 2005 through 2010 a chance to save almost 50 percent on tuition expenses. Students accepted into the program - and who enroll full time - will be allowed to register for 33 credits but will only be required to pay for 18 of them. That amounts to approximately $16,000 in savings.

"WPI recognizes that the current economy has been challenging for our students and their families; we also know that there are tremendous career benefits for graduates with advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics," said WPI Provost and Senior Vice President John A. Orr in a press release.

Last year, the accelerated program increased WPI's full-time, master's degree enrollment by 31 percent.
