2010 40 Under Forty: Corey Adams

08/30/10

AdamsBranch Manager, Robert Half International

Company location: Westborough

Residence: Carver

Age: 29

Career highlights: I joined Robert Half International in 2004 and worked my way up through the organization by consistently growing office revenue and increasing staff size. I began as a staffing manager in the Braintree office before being promoted to a division director in the Boston office. My most recent promotion was to branch manager of the Westborough office. I currently supervise a staff of more than a dozen people who manage hundreds of temporary employees and place others in permanent positions every month.

Community involvement: I began giving back to the community during my college days at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, when I organized two trips for my fraternity to work for Habitat for Humanity during spring break. A few years later, my wife and I did a mission trip to Mexico with our church where we spent time with children living in orphanages, donated supplies and built a house from scratch for a family of five.

Biggest success: I’ve been fortunate enough to be recognized as one of the Top 30 sales professionals in the world two years in a row by Robert Half International. While this is a huge honor, my biggest success has been the opportunity to assume a leadership role in such a great company. I have been able to use what I’ve been taught to influence and help contribute to the success of the future leaders of RHI. Having a direct impact on their career success is hugely rewarding for me personally and professionally.

Hidden talent: I recently lost 50 pounds in six months by wining the Biggest Loser Contest in our office and doing P90X home workout program for 90 days. I am now on a mission to get everyone I know and care about to do the same. Since my transformation, more than 10 people have committed and started the same program. So I’m not sure if it’s a hidden talent but I’ve recently become an “unofficial” personal trainer and motivator!
