Ameresco Expands To Northwest With Acquisition

Framingham-based Ameresco Inc. has agreed to acquire Quantum Engineering and Development Inc.

Quantum is an energy services firm based in Washington State, where it works primarily with public schools, state and local governments.

The acquisition allows Ameresco to expand into the northwest. The company said it will take on all of Quantum's employees and rename the company Ameresco Quantum Inc.

Ameresco runs energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. It has 54 offices in 29 states and in Canada.

Financial terms of the Quantum acquisition were not disclosed.
