With brands like The Fix Burger Bar, Mezcal Tequila Kitchen, and Bocado Tapas Wine Bar, Covino’s Niche Hospitality is top of mind when it comes to dining in Worcester.
After launching in 2004, Niche opened its first restaurant, Block Five Bistro, on Green Street in 2005. Today, the company has five restaurants and three brands, with more to come. The Fix serves its giant burgers from locations in Worcester and Marlborough, Bocado has restaurants in Worcester and Wellesley, and last year Mezcal moved in Worcester from 30 Major Taylor Blvd. to a former 99 Restaurant & Pub location at 11 East Central St. Last year, The Fix closed its Leominster location, and Bocado expanded its Worcester location by taking over a vacant garage space next door. The newly expanded restaurant now includes a patio.
Two new restaurants are scheduled to open later this year, both in bustling parts of Worcester. Vivienne Coastal Mediterranean Restaurant will be at the base of the glass tower at 446 Main St., a few blocks from the Palladium and the DCU Center. Green Island Oyster Bar is underway at 90 Harding St. in the Canal District, around the corner from Bocado. Both new restaurant concepts are scheduled to open over the summer.
