An office building at 42 Nagog Park in Acton was recently purchased for $1.6 million, according to O'Brien Commercial Properties of Marlborough, one of the brokerage firms involved in the deal.
The buyer of the property was Christopher Strangio, founder of CAMI Research, an Acton business located at 530 Main St.
The Nagog Park building totals 41,000 square feet. CAMI will occupy about 7,000 square feet after it moves from its current location, according to Strangio. The remaining space, which includes server rooms, warehouse space and office space, will be leased out.
CAMI makes electronic cable test equipment for a variety of applications, including the military, aerospace, medical device and telecommunications industries. The firm was founded in 1984 and has eight employees.
Strangio says the expansion plans are fueled by a steady increase in business, which started in July of last year.
"We were in a downturn just like everybody else until last July and then there was a huge upswing in business for us, which has more or less continued," he said. "There has been a little bit of hesitation, but I think that it's definitely moving in the right direction."
Joel Aho of O'Brien Commercial represented Strangio. Mike Frisoli, JR McDonald and Rory Walsh of Cushman and Wakefield represented the seller, ND/Winrock Acton LLC.
