Bowditch & Dewey has hired attorney Steven Manchel as the Worcester law firm’s newest partner to join its employment and labor team.
Prior to joining the Worcester firm, Manchel was a founding partner of Manchel & Brennan, a Norwood-based law firm specializing in litigation and counseling, for 25 years, according to a Monday press release from Bowditch.
Manchel has earned the highest Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings of 5.0, an anonymous peer review rating system based on an attorney’s legal knowledge, analytical capabilities, judgment, communication ability and legal experience. Manchel is a member of Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. In addition to his legal career, Manchel is the author of “I Hereby Resign”, a how-to guide to job transitioning, published in 2019.
At Bowditch, Manchel will handle employment matters resulting from employee transitions, involving non-competition agreements and protection of trade secrets, as well as changes at the corporate level, such as mergers and acquisitions among the Fortune 500.
Joining the firm’s employment and labor practice team along with Manchel are two of his long-time colleagues, attorneys Carly Krolak and Patrick Capodilupo.
“We are very fortunate to have Steve and his team join Bowditch,” said Tim Van Dyck, Bowditch’s practice area leader for employment and labor, in the release. “They will expand our muscle power not only in high-stakes employment matters but in other complex litigation matters as well. They bring with them a depth of knowledge and experience in evolving and often complex areas of employment law that aligns perfectly with our core strengths. We were delighted to see that they were drawn to Bowditch and, in particular, to our exceptional employment group.”
