Westborough-based accounting firm CCR LLP has acquired Geller, Ragans, James, Oppenheimer & Creel, a CPA and consulting firm in Orlando, Fla.
Geller Ragans will remain at its present location in Orlando and will take on the CCR name. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
CCR said the acquisition will allow the firm to better serve its current Florida clients while expanding its client base in the region. The firm intends to "maintain our aggressive growth strategy," it said in a statement.
In 2007, CCR agreed to be merged into international accounting giant UHY Advisors. Both firms had offices in the Boston and Hartford, Conn. areas. That deal fell through and UHY has since closed its small Westborough office and consolidated in Boston.
Geller Ragans has 25 accountants in Orlando. CCR has about 200 employees, 80 of them CPAs, half of which work out of the Westborough office. The firm also has offices in Boston, Providence and Glastonbury, Conn.
