Clark University has named Margo Foreman as permanent vice president and chief officer of diversity, equity and inclusion, the school announced on Tuesday.

Foreman will assume her role on Oct. 15.

She replaces Judy Jackson, who served as interim chief officer of diversity and equity and inclusion as of July 15. Before Jackson, Sheree M. Ohen served in the position from 2016 to 2020. She left to take a job at Harvard University in Cambridge, according to her LinkedIn.

In her new role, Foreman will support the school’s DEI programs and initiatives, as well as serve as an advisor to Clark President David Fithian. She currently serves as interim vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion and assistant vice president for diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity at Iowa State University, per the announcement.

“Clark University is at an important juncture,” Foreman said in a statement. “Under President Fithian’s leadership and a shared community commitment to DEI, there is unlimited potential to make great progress.”

Tuesday's announcement of Foreman's hiring comes after Clark saying Thursday it has hired Kendall Isaac its first-ever general counsel. He is also expected to start on Oct. 15.

Foreman is currently working toward her doctorate in education leadership in higher education. She holds a master in public health degree from Indiana University and a bachelor of science in social behavior from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis.
