After nearly four decades, Cutler Management in Worcester has a new president as the commercial real estate management company’s inaugural leader has stepped down, naming Cheryl Maxwell as his successor.
Maxwell comes to her presidential role having spent her entire professional career at Cutler. She most recently served as head of marketing, overseeing commercial marketing and leasing while managing the firm’s field crew. Maxwell has continued in these capacities after she officially assumed her new title on Feb 26.
She began her tenure with the firm 37 years ago as an administrative assistant and has since held roles managing residential and commercial leasing, lease negotiations, bookkeeping, acquisitions, and supervising construction.
Maxwell succeeds Douglas Cutler, owner of Cutler and its first president, who will stay on as the firm’s chairman of the board.
“This opportunity is incredibly meaningful to me. Cutler has been my professional home for nearly four decades. I've grown with Cutler, and now I have the opportunity to help shape its future. It's both humbling and exciting,” said Maxwell.
Maxwell is a graduate of the now-closed Becker College in Worcester.
Founded in 1979, Cutler manages office and industrial properties in Worcester and its directly surrounding cities and towns. The company manages 10 commercial facilities including 453 Park Ave. in Worcester, occupied by an AT&T location, and a two-story plaza in the city at 120 Stafford St. with more than 20 retail and office spaces, according to Cutler’s website.
The firm offers services including budget preparation, inspections, maintenance, and commercial remodelling.
