Cytiva, the former GE Healthcare Life Sciences, based in Marlborough, has entered an agreement with the pharmaceutical company Lakes BioScience, based in the United Kingdom, to help the European company optimize its manufacturing processes, Lakes BioScience announced Tuesday.
The partnership will help Cytiva further cement its presence in the U.K. market while helping Lakes BioScience manufacture antibody therapies and further onshore the country’s bioscience industry, per the announcement.
“It’s a beneficial relationship for both,” said Margret Oland, business development manager of enterprise solutions at Cytiva, in a press release. “We want to be part of Lakes BioScience’s exciting journey.”
Work done under the agreement is anticipated to produce 250 new highly-skilled jobs at a forthcoming, approximately $484 million Lakes BioScience factory in Ulverston, Cumbria, in the United Kingdom, per the announcement.
