The city of Worcester has extended its contract with Philadelphia-based SMG to manage the convention center at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester.
The extension expires in August of 2012. SMG also manages the DCU Center arena. That contract is good through June 2012. SMG has been managing the arena for 25 years and the convention center for 10.
The DCU Center includes 50,000 square feet of exhibit space, 11 meeting rooms and a 12,144-square-foot ballroom. Worldwide, SMG manages more than 10 million square feet of exhibition space.
