First marijuana dispensary opens in Shrewsbury

Illinois cannabis company PharmaCann Inc. opened an adult-use marijuana dispensary at 939 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury on Tuesday, according to a press release. It is the first marijuana dispensary in the town.
The dispensary will do business as Verilife, the name the Illinois company uses for its adult retail operations.
“Our highly-trained team is excited to be part of the Shrewsbury community and serve as a resource to our customers,” said Shelley Stormo, East Coast district manager of PharmaCann, in a statement.
PharmaCann is a privately-held, vertically integrated cannabis company operating in six states. The company operates an adult-use dispensary in Wareham and holds a lease for a cultivation facility in Holliston.
The dispensary will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, according to its website.
