After her swift February resignation as CEO of Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Carolyn Jackson has assumed a new role as head of another Massachusetts hospital.

Jackson now serves as CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Braintree, a role she assumed in April, according to her LinkedIn profile.

“I am honored to be Encompass Health Braintree’s next CEO,” Jackson said in an email to WBJ. “We will continue serving our community and the Greater Boston area with the compassionate, high-quality rehabilitative care that Encompass Health Braintree is known for.”

Encompass Health Braintree offers inpatient rehabilitation services and therapies for those recovering from strokes, brian injuries, hip fractures, and additional complex neurological and orthopedic conditions, according to the hospital’s website. Patients receive three hours of therapy five days a week, round-the-clock nursing care, and routine physician visits.

Since 2019, Jackson had held her roles as CEO of Saint Vincent and the Massachusetts operations of the hospital’s parent company, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare. On Feb 4., she announced her upcoming resignation would be effective 10 days later on Feb. 14.

Leading the hospital for six years, far longer than her predecessors, Jackson had been the face of ongoing conflict and controversy. The hospital’s nurses went on a record-breaking 301-day strike to ratify their contracts, later filing more than 600 complaints against Saint Vincent citing unsafe working conditions and risks to patients.

At the same time, Jackson led the implementation of the hospital’s electronic health record system and integrated new equipment into its services, including a CT simulation for radiation oncology.

On Feb. 18, Saint Vincent named Denten Park as Jackson’s successor
