Grafton Woods Luxury Living, a 491-unit apartment complex pitched for a site off of Worcester’s Grafton Street, is moving forward after receiving necessary approvals from the City of Worcester.
The project received approvals from the Worcester Planning Board in September, the Zoning Board of Appeals in March, and the Conservation Commission in May, according to City documents.
The approvals will allow the project to move forward with construction, according to a Aug. 15 post from Harvard-based Maugel DeStefano Architects. A more exact timeline was not revealed.
Plans call for the creation of five four-story buildings, alongside a parking deck and an open common area featuring lawn space, pickleball courts, and a bicycle corral. In total, 793 parking spaces are planned for the site.
The 688,544 square feet of space created by the project will include 3,500 square feet of commercial space.
Brandt Lane Development, the Holden-based firm behind the proposal, purchased the 17.7-acre site for $4.3 million in 2023. The site contains a single-family home and several junk stockpiles. The construction of the development will result in the remediation of waste materials at the site and the reconstruction of Brandt Lane.
