Insulet has named two employees to new C-suite roles shortly after the Acton-based medical device manufacturer became the sole Central Massachusetts public company to be led by a woman earlier this year.

Eric Benjamin has been named the company’s new COO, while Manoj Raghunandanan has been appointed its inaugural chief growth officer, according to a Monday press release from Insulet.

After joining Insulet in 2015, Benjamin most recently served as Insulet’s executive vice president, chief product & customer experience officer. Becoming COO is an expansion of this previous role, marking a transition that will see him manage the company’s strategy and business development, the office of the chief technology officer, research and development, and its newly growth organization.

Additionally, he will spearhead initiatives including end-to-end growth, strategic planning, and commercial expansion.

“Eric has been a driving force in Insulet’s success,” Ashley McEvoy, Insulet president and CEO, said in the release. “He combines vision, execution, and a mission-first mindset that sets him apart – spotting opportunities in evolving markets, setting bold strategies, and building high-performing teams that deliver results. I look forward to partnering even more closely with him as we accelerate Insulet’s next chapter of growth and impact. The addition of Manoj’s deep global growth expertise further enhances our leadership and positions us to seize new opportunities ahead.”

McEvoy became Insulet’s leader in April, making the manufacturer the only woman-run public company in Central Massachusetts.

Benjamin marks Insulet’s permanent replacement for Chuck Alpuche, who announced his upcoming retirement from the COO position on Dec. 31, 2022, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that same month. Subsequently, Prem Singh was named senior vice president, global operations with transitioned responsibilities from Alpuche.

Throughout his 10-year tenure with Insulet, Benjamin has led global product strategy, bolstering the manufacturer’s supply chain and launching two of Insulet’s wearable insulin delivery devices: the Omnipod DASH and Omnipod 5.

“I’m honored to step into this role at such an important moment for Insulet and an exciting time in the advancement of diabetes care,” Benjamin said in the release. “We have an extraordinary opportunity to continue advancing life-changing technology and broaden global access to improve the lives of people with diabetes.”

Benjamin graduated from University of California, Berkeley with his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and operations research and earned master’s degrees at both the
University of California San Diego and Harvard Business School in Boston, according to Insulet’s website.

Raghunandanan assumes his chief growth officer position within Insulet’s new Growth organization, leading the development of its global strategy while managing demand generation and enhancing commercial capacities, according to the release.

He comes to Insulet having most recently worked as general manager of Northern European business at New Jersey-based Kenvue, formerly known as Johnson & Johnson’s consumer health company, for twenty years.

Raghunandanan graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with his master’s degree.
