JetBlue Adds Costa Rica Route

Later this year, JetBlue customers will be able to catch a flight out of Worcester and travel to Costa Rica, by way of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The airline, which will begin flying out of Worcester Regional Airport beginning in November, announced today that daily, nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport were to begin today.

"Adding San Jose capitalizes on our success in South Florida with continued growth to a key Central America destination," said Scott Laurence, vice president of network planning for JetBlue Airways.

To celebrate its latest route, JetBlue is offering discounted fares as low as $135 one way between the two destinations through July 2 at www.jetblue.com/new. The deal is good for travel between Sept. 6 and Dec. 13.

According to JetBlue, destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean account for almost one-third of its routes. In addition to the new route, JetBlue also has service to Costa Rica via two other routes: to San Jose from Orlando and Liberia from New York's JFK airport.
