Level99 is opening its third location and first outside of New England in less than a week.
The Natick-based operator of entertainment venues featuring a variety of rooms with physical and mental interactive challenges is opening a location at Tysons Corner Center mall in Tysons, Virginia on Monday. Tysons sits about a half-hour west of Washington D.C.
Spanning more than 40,000 square feet, the venue will include 50 interactive mental and physical challenge rooms and other activities, according to a Level99 press release issued Monday.
The opening of the Virginia location comes as Level99 seeks to open a location at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and another location in West Hartford, Connecticut.
The West Hartford location is expected to open later this year. A timeline hasn’t been announced for the Disney World location.
Level99 is owned by Act III Holdings, a Miami-based investment firm operated by Ron Shaich, the founder of Panera Bread and co-founder of Au Bon Pain. Level99 was founded by CEO Matthew DuPlessie, a Harvard Business School graduate and member of the WBJ 2025 Power 100.
“We’re thrilled to bring Level99 to the DMV and introduce a fresh kind of social destination experience to Tysons,” DuPlessie said in the press release. “This area is packed with curious, social, mentally and physically active communities, and we’ve built Level99 for exactly that kind of guest.”
Level99 is partnering with Pennsylvania-based Victory Brewing to run a food and beverage space at the Tysons location, similar to how the company partners with Everett-based Night Shift Brewing at its Natick and Providence locations.
Level99 opened its first location in the Natick Mall in January 2021.
