Marlborough-based medical device firm Lifeward has named Mark Grant as its next president and CEO, following the February announcement that long-term Lifeward leader Larry Jasinski will retire

Grant will begin to transition into the CEO role on June 2, with Jasinski serving as co-CEO and in an advisory capacity until the end of June, according to a Monday press release from Lifeward. Jasinski then will serve as an advisor on an as-needed basis until the end of 2025.

Grant served in various leadership roles at Medtronic from 2004 to 2023, rising to the level of vice president for the Americas. Headquartered in Ireland, Medtronic was the largest medical device company in the world by total revenue in 2024, according to Proclinical, a life science recruitment and consulting solutions firm.

"Mark brings 30 years of combined experience in commercial leadership, channel development and strategic solutions, and is the perfect choice to lead Lifeward in its next stage of growth,” Joseph Turk, chairman of the Lifeward board of directors, said in the press release. “I want to welcome Mark on behalf of the entire Lifeward Board; we look forward to working with him to help drive innovations that change the lives of individuals with physical limitations, impairments, or disabilities, including spinal cord injuries.”

Grant most recently served as president of Americas and chief commercial officer for IMRA Surgical, an Australia-based surgical robotic training firm. He took on that role in March 2023, according to his Linkedin profile.

Grant graduated from East Carolina University in North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology.

Jasinski’s retirement at the end of June will end a 13-year tenure as leader of Lifeward, formerly known as ReWalk Robotics.

“I also want to thank Larry for his unwavering commitment to Lifeward over the years, and for his valued support in facilitating a seamless leadership transition.” Turk said in the press release.

Founded in 2001, Lifeward manufactures devices aiming to assist and restore movement in people suffering from a variety of neurological issues, including the ReWalk personal exoskeleton, a device which helps individuals with spinal cord injuries walk.
