Ed Manzi has announced his retirement as Chairman & CEO of Fidelity Bank, after having led the Leominster-based financial institution for over 28 years.
Manzi, who was inducted into the WBJ Hall of Fame in 2018, wrote in a LinkedIn post on Friday the completion of Fidelity’s merger with Hyannis-based bank Cape Cod 5 was a good moment for him to retire.
“This Bank has been a big part of my and my family's life for the past 35 years,” Manzi wrote in the LinkedIn post. “Helping clients, colleagues, and communities gain the clarity they need to move forward with confidence has been the greatest honor and privilege of my life. It has been so rewarding to help people get where they want to be.”
Having previously served as president & CEO of Shirley Cooperative Bank in a role which began in 1990, Manzi first joined Fidelity in 1997 when Shirley merged with Fidelity. Manzi graduated from Bentley University with a MBA in finance in 1992 and a master’s in accounting from UMass Lowell in 1982.
Fidelity Bank had $1.3 billion in local deposits and $1.6 billion in total assets as of June 2024, making it the 11th largest bank in Central Massachusetts, according to data provided to the WBJ Research Department. The bank has 177 employees across 14 branches.
