The Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts has sworn in five new and three re-elected members to its board, bringing its member count to 21. The nonprofit’s new directors include ERIKA DULMAINE, SARA FLYNN, ABIGAIL MENSAH, JENNIFER MERTON, and PRISHA KONDURU while its returning members are NELIANA FERRARO DE MITCHELL, JENNIFER HUBERT, and KATIE ROZENAS-HANSON.
Workers Credit Union has named PAUL GARCIA and CHRISTINE CLOONAN to the Littleton-based financial institution’s board of directors. With more than two decades of IT experience, Garcia comes to Workers Credit’s board as he works as director, cybersecurity at L3Harris Technologies, a Florida-based aerospace tech company. He graduated with his bachelor’s degrees in criminology and information technology from Northern Arizona University and his master’s degree in human resource management from The University of Oklahoma. Cloonan, who works as an investor relations professional for a publicly traded company, has more than 10 years of experience in corporate financial leadership in regards to technology and telecommunications. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and economics from Bowdoin College in Maine, a master’s degree in Spanish from Middlebury College in Vermont, and another in finance from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Argentina.
JOSE BANCHS has been appointed chair of the board at the Shirley-based Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce. Banchs, owner of J&S Business Products in Ayer, assumes his new role having been a member of the chamber for several years. In his new capacities, Banchs will work with the rest of the board and chamber staff to further the chamber’s mission of strengthening the region’s business ecosystem, support entrepreneurs, and create opportunities for collaboration.
Worcester County Horticultural Society, which runs the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, has named a new board president and added six new members to its board of trustees. After assuming her role as board president in November to fill a vacancy, GAYLE WEISS has been officially elected to a one-year term with the organization. She worked as an attorney with Massachusetts’ Superior Court, Worcester-based Bowditch & Dewey, and Unum, headquartered in Tennessee. She earned her law degree from Suffolk University in Boston. The organization’s new trustees include: JEANIE CONNOLLY, the senior vice president, senior commercial lending officer at Clinton Savings Bank and current member of WCHS’s finance and investment committee. Connolly earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bentley University in Waltham. JYOTI DATTA, a retired school principal who is a corporator at the Worcester Art Museum and a member of its education and community engagement committee, a trustee at Bancroft School in Worcester, and a Worcester Garden Club member. She graduated with her master’s degree from Lesley University in Cambridge. ELLEN HORNIG, the founder of the now-closed Seneca Hill Perennials in Oswego, New York, who formerly taught economics at the State University of New York at Oswego. She earned her Ph.D. from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. ANDREA MATTEI, an attorney at Maryland-based law firm Lerch, Early & Brewer. Mattei, who centers her practice around commercial and corporate finance, graduated with her law degree from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law. GAIL RADCLIFFE, who has provided technical assessment and clinical and regulatory assistance to medical device and diagnostics companies for more than three decades. She graduated with her Ph.D. in molecular biology from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. PRIYA VAIDYA, an engineer at Intel, globally headquartered in California, and a member of the New England Botanic Garden, located in Boylston. She earned her master's degree in electrical engineering from UMass Amherst.
CHRISTOPHER SNELL has been appointed quality and operations coordinator at Thrive Support & Advocacy, a Worcester-based nonprofit. In his new role, Snell will work to advance the organization’s financial, managerial, and technological performances.
