DR. JOHN SHUFFLEBARGER, DR. THOM TARQUINIO and DR. STEPHEN WEINBERGER were hired by Worcester-based Reliant Medical Group. Dr. Shufflebarger, who will practice in the department of orthopedic and reconstructive surgery, received his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Medicine in Morgantown, W.Va. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and comes to Reliant after practicing at UMass-Memorial Medical Center for 21 years. Dr. Tarquinio will also practice in the department of orthopedic and reconstructive surgery. He received his medical degree from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Weinberger will practice internal medicine and pediatrics at Reliant's new ReadyMED site in Auburn. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York in Syracuse, N.Y. Dr. Weinberger is a board candidate for the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics.
ROBERT RIDDLES has been hired by Clark University in Worcester as director of the office of corporate and foundation relations. He is a graduate of the University of Denver.
PEG CAMP was named executive vice president of the American Cancer Society's New England Division, in Framingham. She succeeds Donald J. Gudaitis. Camp most recently served as the New England division's senior vice president of operations, a role she had held since 2000. Prior to that, she served as senior vice president of cancer control for the New England division from 1998-2000. An Ohio native, she is a graduate of Ohio State University with a degree in journalism. She lives in Ashland.
KURT A. ISAACSON was hired as chief operating officer of Spectrum Health Systems Inc. of Worcester. He was most recently vice president and executive director of Diamond Healthcare, a six-hospital, 1,000-bed healthcare system in Georgia. Previous to that, Mr. Isaacson served as the CEO of two psychiatric hospitals in Mississippi and Indiana, as well as senior vice president of operations for a behavioral healthcare system in Vermont. Isaacson has an MBA from the University of New Haven in West Haven, Conn., and a bachelor's degree in health services administration from the University of Arizona in Tucson.
DR. ZUNG HOANG and DR. ELISABETH COSTA ROBINSON have been hired by Harrington Hospital in Southbridge. Dr. Hoang is joining the gynecology and obstetrics team. She is fluent in English, French and Vietnamese. Dr. Robinson specializes in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery.
NADINE THOMPSON was hired as director of sales by Boston Marlborough Courtyard by Marriott and its parent company, Chicago-based Ultima Hospitality. Thompson served as director of catering sales and event planning at the Marriott Boston Burlington Hotel and held several past positions with Marriott, including regional director of sales.
STEVE FOSKETT has been hired as regional sales manager at Southbridge-based Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions, a knife and blade manufacturer. Following a stint as sales manager at Barrett Centrifugals, he served as regional manager for Amada America, and as an account manager for both Northeast Precision Machine and the Robert E. Morris Co. He also was a sales representative for Able Machine Tool Sales. Foskett is a graduate of Worcester State University and lives in Worcester.
GEORGE P. KUSTIGIAN JR. was hired as director of finance for Worcester-based Children's Friend Inc. He succeeds Helen Landry, who is retiring. He was formerly president of Kesseli and Morse Co. He is a graduate of Nichols College and lives in Leicester.
DOUG MOW was hired by Westborough-based Courion as chief marketing officer. He was most recently senior vice president of marketing for Velocity Technology Solutions, a provider of ERP hosting services. Mow has also held executive positions at Virtusa, Qwest Communications and NaviSite Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management and marketing from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.
LISA OSBORNE and DANA HARDY were promoted by Athol Savings Bank. Osborne was named assistant vice president of branch administration and security; Hardy was named community banking officer. Osborne, an Athol resident, joined the bank in 1993 as a part-time teller, and earned numerous promotions. Hardy started as a teller in 2001 and also served in many other roles; she was previously an assistant manager.
RACHEL CRONIN was named a financial advisor at Gardner-based GFA Federal Credit Union. She previously worked for Fidelity Investments. Cronin has a bachelor's degree in communications from Keene State College in Keene, N.H.
LUCA CAPOGNA and JOSEPH SARKIS were hired by Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Capogna is professor and head of WPI's department of mathematical sciences. Sarkis was hired as a professor in the school of business and head of the department of management. Capogna was most recently professor of mathematics at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Sarkis was interim dean of the graduate school of management at Clark University.
ROBERT DEAN was hired by Associated Home Care, a home health care agency with a facility in Leominster, as chief operations officer. He will supervise and manage the company's Eastern Massachusetts offices. Most recently, he served as vice president of private duty care and paraprofessional services at All Care, where he worked for the past 20 years. He has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Salem State University.
MARIE BRAIS BEAM was hired by the Discovery Museums of Acton as chief development officer. She was most recently director of advancement at the Fay School, and prior to that served as director of major gifts and campaigns at Simmons College in Boston. Beam earned a bachelor's degree in economics and comparative and English literature from Simmons. She lives in Littleton.
