New fiber internet provider launches service in Holden

After breaking ground in the spring, North Carolina-based Ripple Fiber has launched fiber optic internet services in Holden as it works to build out a broader network in Worcester County.

Ripple Fiber’s internet service is now available in parts of Holden, with construction continuing elsewhere in the town and in West Boylston, where the company intends to roll out service next. Ripple Fiber aims to provide access to more than 11,000 households in the area, with further expansion in Worcester County in the works, according to a Wednesday press release from the company.

One-gig and two-gig packages are available, with the one-gig package costing $85 per month, according to a Facebook post in August from Ripple Fiber. The company is offering a promotion which allows customers to lock into this price for the lifetime of their service.

Previously, Spectrum was the only wired internet provider available to residential customers in Holden.

“Ripple Fiber is pleased to deliver high-speed fiber internet to our first customers in Massachusetts, as we continue to explore expansion areas across the state to bring access to as many residents as we can,” Greg Wilson, founder and CEO of Ripple Fiber, said in the press release. “Since celebrating our groundbreaking earlier this year, our team has had the honor of being involved in multiple partnerships and events, with community impact serving as one of our core values.”

Ripple Fiber has opened a local retail office at 56 Sterling St. in Clinton to help customers who are interested in its services. Potential customers can check Ripple Fiber’s availability at its website
