The yellow ofo bikes in Worcester have only been in the city for a little over a month, but they’ll soon be replaced with bikes better built for the hilly city.
Ofo, the China-based bikesharing company, will 100 fixed-gear bikes with three-gear bikes equipped with a basket, liquid-pressured quick-released seat, strengthened frame, built-in front lights and protected back lights.
“Ofo is constantly improving the design of the bikes so that they can provide a smooth, enjoyable experience for riders,” ofo spokesperson Daniele Marx said in a press release.
The bikes will be replaced by the end of next week, Marx said.
The company in September placed 400 fixed-gear bikes around the city. In doing so, Worcester became the just the second American city where it operates.
