Oxford Laser Maker Opens Chinese Corporate Office

Oxford fiber laser maker IPG Photonics is establishing a corporate presence in China by creating a vice president of Asian operations position.
The company reported that more than 40 percent of its revenues in the first three quarters of 2010 were from Asian customers. CEO Valentin Gapontsev said Asian sales have grown rapidly and offer significant growth potential.
For the newly created position the company hired Trevor Ness, who formerly worked as director of GSI Precision Technologies China, which was part of the GSI Group.
