Photo/Courtesy Recently, six-year-old Worcester resident Liza Rosenblum, a Children's Hospital Boston patient threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to a Boston Red Sox game. Liza also assisted CVS Caremark in presenting a $27,500 check to Children's Hospital Boston. Of Note... 

Worcester State College received a $2 million gift from 1963 graduate Steven Keenan and his wife, Jacqueline. The gift is the highest on record for the school.

The Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) in Waltham has given a “Profitable Connections” award to the Massachusetts Community Development Finance Corporation (CDFC) for its work in helping finance small business operations and expansions.

Junior Achievement of Central Massachusetts received a $5,000 contribution from the Verizon Foundation for economic literacy and workforce awareness programs at Worcester’s Elm Park School.
