Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester will once again offer free medical administrative assistant training, as well as a free nurse assistant/home health aide program later this fall and early in spring, after the popularity of the same program earlier this year, the school announced on Wednesday.

Each program offered takes roughly two months to complete, and includes free tuition, textbooks, certification testing and necessary software and other equipment required to complete either track.

“These free workforce training programs are one of the ways QCC is making an investment in the community our students live and work,” said Kathleen Manning, QCC dean of The Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education, in a statement.

The free training comes as the entire healthcare industry is facing a workforce shortage, especially in professionals like home health aide and nurse assistant, which are expected to be among the fastest growing in Massachusetts for the next decade.
