Recycling old computer equipment gets easy

Staples Inc. of Framingham has started accepting old computers and computer equipment at its retail stores for recycling.

The company said anyone can bring in just about any old computer, monitor, laptop, printer, fax machine and other devices to any Staples store, and the store will make sure it's recycled.
The company is working with Amandi Services, an electronics recycling company, to handle the actual recycling.

Recycling of computer and electronic equipment must follow U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations.

Staples said a $10 fee may be charged for large items, and stores won't accept televisions or large, floor-model copiers.
