Saint-Gobain Abrasives in Worcester and Minnesota manufacturer 3M have settled a long-standing patent dispute related to paint-spraying technology.

3M announced the settlement Monday.

The settlement includes the resolution of all disputes and a release of Saint-Gobain’s products within its Norton Paint Systems brands under 3M’s paint spray technology patents.

Claims of infringement were originally brought by 3M in Europe against Saint-Gobain in Germany and France. Saint-Gobain then filed litigation in both countries.

Saint-Gobain could not immediately be reached for comment.
