Softscape Settles Suit

Wayland-based Softscape Inc. has agreed to pay an undisclosed amount to competitor SuccessFactors Inc. of California, while admitting it created and distributed an unflattering e-mail criticizing SuccessFactors and its products.
Softscape also admitted that the e-mail included incorrect information, according to statements from both companies.
SuccessFactors filed suit against Softscape in March in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Softscape also dropped its countersuit against SuccessFactors, which included claims of misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition and "tortuous" interference in contractual relations.
Softscape and SuccessFactors make human resources software.
