Wakefield-based Agilitas Energy has acquired a construction-ready, solar photovoltaic and energy storage program in Hopkinton, while completing a separate project in Auburn.

The Hopkinton solar array, which Agillitas acquired for an undisclosed sum, will be tied to Boston-based utility Eversource and provide a 5.8-megawatt, direct-current solar array, along with 9 megawatt hours of storage capacity.

Agilitas said in its June 23 press release it will set aside more than 45 acres of open space for permanent conservation and will donate more than $10,000 for the construction of a parking area to support access to the on-site trail network in Hopkinton.

In Auburn, the company completed its largest utility-scale, coupled solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage system, which is now in commercial operation. The system will generate enough electricity to power more than 1,200 homes in Massachusetts per year.

Both projects are from the Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target program, which was designed to create an incentive program to provide cost-effective solar development in the commonwealth.
