Tufts Health Plan has acquired Network Health, a managed Medicaid plan with nearly 180,000 subscribers throughout Massachusetts who qualify for MassHealth and Commonwealth Care, Tufts announced.
Network Health, based in Medford, has been recognized as one of the top 10 Medicaid health plans in the nation. It’s one of six organizations contracted by the state to serve part of its Medicaid population. It offers two health plans, Network Health Together (MassHealth Plan) and Network Health Forward (the Commonwealth Care plan).
Tufts said no changes are currently being planned for Network Health employees, members, or contracted providers, and Network Health will continue to provide services under its Medicaid and Commonwealth Care offerings.
