UMass Memorial Health Care has reached an agreement with a labor union to cover 2,600 workers at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
The new four-year contract with the State Healthcare and Research Employees union is still subject to a vote by the union members.
The news was shared via a press release from the healthcare organization. Details of the contract were not released.
In a statement, UMass Memorial Health Care President and CEO Eric Dickson noted the mutual respect and collaboration throughout the negotiating process.
The union’s "efforts clearly reflect our shared commitment to patient-centered care and demonstrate that together, we are highly engaged, focused and working hard to bring the best care possible to the people here in Central Massachusetts,” Dickson said.
The union covers administrative, technical and patient care positions, according to its website.
In a blog post earlier this month, the union said it has negotiated a raise for members every year.
