WBJ Talk Back: Worcester Airport Activity, Sandy’s Aftermath

ACTIVITY AT THE AIRPORT

Rectrix Aviation, which runs small, private jets and maintains aircraft, is expanding to Worcester Regional Airport. The announcement brought out two endorsements in our LinkedIn group:

The airport does need a

commercial carrier. It should

also be a hub for UPS, Fed EX,

DHL, and any other similar carrier. They could and would be able

to cover all of New England

from Worcester. In actuality,

Worcester could be the

center of all commerce

for New England!

For years, I’ve contended

that Worcester airport

should focus on being a

hub for charter flights

and freight. This is a

wonderful development.

HURRICANE SANDY AFTERMATH

Did the media overhype the impending arrival of Hurricane Sandy to the region in late October? Not according to another LinkedIn group member:

I don’t think that you can

over-hype something like this.

It only takes one accident

to bring the impact into perspective. As they say, it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
