Webster Five officially opened the door to its new Auburn branch located at 400 Southbridge St., designed with a curated art installation featuring artists with disabilities.
The new branch saw Webster Five partner with Artlifting, an organization that connects disabled artists with professional opportunities, according to a Tuesday press release from Webster Five.
“We saw this as an opportunity to make the space feel like it truly belongs to the Auburn community,” Brian McEvoy, chief retail banking officer at Webster Five, said in the press release. “Partnering with ArtLifting allowed us to bring energy and meaning to the space while aligning with our community-oriented values.”
The Auburn branch has a curated art installation with permanent wall coverings, digital displays, and framed prints, and has generated $12,000 in social impact via direct artist payment and with contributions to the Boston-based Artliftings Community Impact Fund.
"Having my artwork displayed at Webster Five is an incredible honor. It means the world to know that my creative voice is being seen and valued by the community,” Selah Rose, the ArtLifting artist who designed the wallcovering, said in the press release. “This opportunity not only affirms my work as an artist but also makes a meaningful difference in my life and helps support my family. I’m deeply grateful.”
Webster Five is based in Auburn and has seven branches across Central Massachusetts, including locations in Shrewsbury, Worcester, Dudley, and Oxford.
The bank had $968.3 million in local deposits and $1.3 billion in assets, and when ranked by local deposits, Webster Five is the 13th largest bank in Central Massachusetts, according to data provided to the WBJ Research Department.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article had the branch's address listed as 547 Southbridge St. In fact, it's 400 Southbridge St.
