A former Honey Farms store in Northborough has been sold for $601,000 to a Westwood businessman who intends to run a convenience store in the building.

The 3,2000-square-foot store, at 5 West Main St., was sold to VEDC, LLC, a Westwood entity controlled by Sureshbhai Patel, who is listed in state business records as the owner of several other entities running convenience stores.

According to land records, none of those entities control stores in Worcester County.

The location was previously a Honey Farms in the downtown area of Northborough for more than 20 years.

The store chain was sold in October for $36 million to Waltham-based Global Partners. Worcester County land records show that Honey Farms' lease was transferred to Global Partners in October, but that lease ended at the end of March.
