The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Worcester County rose to eight Tuesday, and the number of statewide cases now sits at 218.

Those numbers are a day-to-day rise of two in Worcester County and 21 across Massachusetts, according to the state Department of Public Health.

Middlesex County has a confirmed 89 cases, followed by 43 in Norfolk County and 42 in Suffolk County. In all, 10 of the state's 14 counties now have at least one confirmed case.

Gov. Charlie Baker said Sunday he expected the number of cases to rise in large part because of more testing becoming available.

"You're going to see tons more testing and with tons more testing, yeah, you'll probably see a significant increase in the number of people who have been affected," Baker said, according to State House News Service.

Baker suggested that drive-through testing may soon become available.

The Department of Public Health has tied 100 cases across the state to a Boston conference from Cambridge biotech firm Biogen in February, with 51 under investigation for potential cause. In 14 of the state's 219 cases, a patient has needed to be hospitalized.
