Wormtown Brewery will open a taproom this summer at Patriot Place in Foxborough, taking over the space formerly occupied by Maynard’s Battle Road Brewery.
The Worcester beermakers have agreed to contract brew Battle Road beer for the Maynard brewery as Wormtown takes over production of the Battle Road brand, per an agreement with the Maynard company. That brewing will be done in both Worcester and Maynard.
The 4,000-square-foot space most recently served as the Battle Road Hop Up during the fall and winter of 2018 during the New England Patriots’ run to a sixth Super Bowl win.
Patriot Place, an open-air shopping center with 17 restaurants and bars, was built around Gillette Stadium beginning in 2007.
“Being able to bring our brewery to the fans of the New England Patriots, New England Revolution and concertgoers from all over is an amazing opportunity for us,” said Managing Partner David Fields in a statement.
Wormtown’s new brewery will feature a seven-barrel brewing system that will allow innovation currently not possible in Worcester, said Founder and Master Brewer Ben Roesch.
“I am really looking forward to the flexibility and innovation this new facility will offer us and the opportunity to encourage our team to explore and try new things for our guests and consumers to share in Foxborough,” he said in a statement.
