On Sunday afternoon, President Joe Biden announced he is ending his bid for re-election, after growing concerns about his age following a poor debate performance in June. In stepping aside, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take his place as the Democratic nominee for president and face Republican nominee Donald Trump on the November ballot. While Biden's endorsement of Harris does help her candidacy, other politicians have been floated as possible replacements for Biden.
