Bay State Savings Bank

Bay State Savings Bank: Community Bank of Choice

Since our establishment in 1895, Bay State Savings Bank has remained committed to one mission: be the community bank of choice. We offer retail and commercial services and always tailor those services to meet the needs of our customers.

Our mission statement has not changed for 124 years, but our Bank continues to explore new channels to deliver services. This past year, Bay State launched numerous initiatives focused on making itself more accessible to its customers, including a new online lending platform and new security management options for customers that use mobile banking.  Bay State also launched an array of outreach initiatives, including financial literacy and homebuyer seminars at its branches.

When it comes to our involvement with local organizations, we put our heart into supporting our communities.  Our staff volunteers time and professional expertise to serve on the boards of local organizations and nonprofits such as Mechanics Hall, the Worcester Historical Museum, Friendly House, Edward Street Child Services, Habitat for Humanity, Children’s Friend, and Best Buddies.

Last year, the Bank and its charitable foundation also awarded over $300,000 in scholarships, grants, donations, and sponsorships.  The Bank has enjoyed its ongoing participation with and support of local nonprofits such as the Mustard Seed, Literacy Volunteers of Greater Worcester, LUK, Inc. and Simon Says Give Worcester, while also supporting our local sports teams such as the Worcester Bravehearts and the Worcester Railers.

We are proud to have been recently recognized for our contributions. Last year, Bay State Savings Bank was named the 2018 “Outstanding Community Partner” by Girls Inc. of Worcester. We were also recognized last November for being an Accredited Business for 50 Years by the Better Business Bureau.

Bay State Savings Bank has five full-service branches in Worcester, with additional branches in Holden and Auburn, including an education-based branch at Auburn High School. We look forward to the future and continuing to be an integral part of our communities.
