If you or someone you love is facing a brain injury – whether it’s from traumatic brain injury (TBI), brain tumor, or stroke – the road ahead can be uncertain and overwhelming. Since 1982, our mission has been to provide free, compassionate support and resources to individuals and families affected by brain injury.

With a comprehensive approach to our mission - through advocacy, education, prevention, research, and support, - BIA-MA proudly serves as Massachusetts brain injury resource.

As CEO Nicole Godaire says, “Brain injury doesn’t discriminate; it affects people of all ages, from all walks of life.” These injuries often strike suddenly—from falls, accidents, sports, or illness—bringing significant challenges to individuals, families, and employers alike. Knowing where to turn for help can make all the difference.

What We Offer

With a dedicated team of about a dozen staff, a $2.5 million budget, and support from hundreds of contractors and volunteers, BIA-MA delivers high-impact services with lean resources. Our programs include:

• Advocacy - We are advocates for public policy related to brain injury prevention, education, and access to care

• Support – We offer support groups for people impacted by brain injury

• Training – We educate medical professionals, family members and brain injury survivors

• Prevention and education – We perform outreach about seatbelts and helmet safety

• NeuroResource Facilitation – We provide navigation and support

After more than 40 years as advocates, we seek to deepen our local ties. As we approach our new fiscal year on July 1, we increasingly rely on the generosity of our community to sustain and grow our work.

There are a number of ways businesses and individuals can support BIA-MA, including tax-deductible donations online; tribute gifts in honor of a friend or loved one; and workplace giving through payroll deductions and matching gifts. We also offer sponsorship opportunities to the business community, including our Annual Golf Classic at The Haven Country Club in Boylston, and our annual walk/run on Cape Cod in September, known as Cere-Bration.
