Evergreen Customer Scales Back Order

A customer of Marlborough-based Evergreen Solar has scaled back the number of solar modules it plans to buy from the company during the next two years.

Wagner & Co. Solartechnik GmbH, a German renewable energy company, originally planned to buy 35 megawatts of solar panels this year, but as part of a new agreement, it will now only be required to buy 11.5 megawatts.

Wagner's obligation of purchasing 50 megawatts in 2012 has been reduced to zero. Wagner may purchase more than it is required to as part of the agreement.

Evergreen and Wagner renegotiated the contract after the solar panel manufacturer closed its Devens facility earlier this year.
