Career highlights: Since joining Ascentria Care in 2008, expanded services to immigrant victims of crime, asylum seekers and unaccompanied minors. In 2012, appointed by Gov. Deval Patrick to the Massachusetts Human Trafficking Task Force.

Community involvement: Manages and oversees the Human Trafficking Clinic at Boston University School of Law; board member at the EVA Center, a nonprofit that works with women who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation.

Ultimate career goal: To continue to learn, impart knowledge and be passionate about my work.

Non-relative you admire most: Lucian Freud

Favorite book: “The Elegance of the Hedgehog,” by Muriel Barbery

Hidden talents: Photography and oil painting. Also speaks Spanish, some Chinese, and some Thai. As a child, learned to ride horses in Texas.
