New solar sites going up in Uxbridge

Three solar-energy stations are expected to be completed in Uxbridge and will serve residential and commercial electric ratepayers for National Grid, according to the project developer.

Clean Energy Collective (CEC), which is based in Colorado and has an office in Worcester, said the projects will generate a combined capacity of three megawatts of power, enough to serve an estimated 400 to 500 customers.  The projects are projected to produce more than 63 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of clean energy over their lifespan, and generate more than $2 million in savings for program participants, CEC said in a statement.

The sites are part of the company’s “Solar Perks” program. Tom Sweeney, CEC’s chief operating officer, said the program is expanding solar access “exponentially” across Massachusetts, “providing equal access to all ratepayers.”
