43-acre development coming to Marlborough

The 43-acre development is located across from an existing plaza and close to Route 495.
A 475,000-square-foot development has been proposed in Marlborough and is set to include entertainment, office buildings and hotels.
APEX Center at 180 Boston Post Road West is located near Route 495 and has access to Route 20. It is located across from the Office Max plaza on Route 20 in Marlborough. The development already has pre-commitments for 300,000 square feet of space, including 237 hotel rooms from a Hyatt Place hotel and a Fairfield Inn & Suites, according to an announcement from developers. Two restaurants, a bowling alley and an emergency veterinary center will also be developed.
The project will be undertaken by developer Robert Walker and Bellingham-based American Commercial Real Estate. The proposal for the development was first put before the Marlborough City Council last week, according to the Marlborough Economic Development Corporation, and is currently under review by city officials.
The development is slated for a 2017 opening.
