Worcester law firm Bowditch & Dewey announced Wednesday that Jon Barooshian has joined the firm as a partner in the business litigation practice.

Barooshian served as an assistant district attorney in Massachusetts and was formerly at Boston corporate law firm Jager Smith, P.C. He received his LL.M, from Boston University School of Law’s Graduate Tax Program, and is a graduate of Massachusetts School of Law.

Barooshian concentrates his practice on government investigations and tax controversies in both the criminal and civil arena. He represents individuals and corporations in civil, criminal and administrative proceedings brought by federal and state agencies. In addition to tax fraud investigations, Barooshian defends clients in FBAR and offshore bank account proceedings, federal tax collection proceedings and voluntary disclosure matters. His clients include global financial services companies, healthcare companies, nonprofit higher education institutions, business owners and individuals.
