SimpliVity customers up 177% in first quarter

Westborough technology firm SimpliVity said Thursday that its customer base for the first quarter rose by 177 percent year-over-year on the back of deals with Fortune 50 and Global 2000 companies.

The private company did not release financial details, but revealed some information about its operations, saying that adoption of its hyperconverged infrastructure is accelerating.

“Our early investment allowed us to deliver a more complete offering to customers — providing all enterprise IT infrastructure, storage and data services,” Doron Kempel, CEO of SimpliVity, said in a statement.

The SimpliVity OmniCube appliance uses the company's OmniStack Data Virtualization Platform to combine all IT infrastructure and data services -- including computing, storage, backup and replication -- to reduce IT costs and streamline operations. The company has raised $276 million in venture capital and employs about 750 worldwide.
