Worcester 7th worst for jobs on WalletHub list

WalletHub named Worcester 7th worst in the country for job opportunities.

Personal finance website WalletHub has named Worcester the seventh worst city in the U.S. for jobs in a new analysis of 150 of the most populated cities in the country released Wednesday.

WalletHub compared Worcester to other large cities across 23 key metrics, including unemployment rate, industry variety and housing affordability, to determine its ranking of 144th out of 150. Worcester ranked 82nd in job opportunities, 129th in employment growth, 99th in unemployment rate, 72nd in industry variety, 101st in monthly median starting salary adjusted for cost of living, and 108th for housing affordability. On a happier note, Worcester did come in strong at 20th for time spent working and commuting.

Boston was ranked 54rd overall on the list and Providence came in at 94th.
