The home of British Beer Co., InHouse Coffee and others has sold for $5.5 million.

A Shrewsbury Street site, where a British Beer Co. restaurant and bar and other retailers are located, has been sold for $5.5 million, real estate firm Kelleher & Sadowsky announced Monday.

The property at 225 Shrewsbury St. is reportedly being considered for a possible hotel. The new owner, Barry Lundgren of Forza Properties, who also owns Lundgren Honda of Auburn, has not responded to calls requesting comment.

The site includes about 33,000 square feet of retail space on about 2.4 acres. Tenants also include a Digital Federal Credit Union, Gentle Dentle and InHouse Coffee.

British Beer Co. opened at the site last spring, replacing previous tenants Urban Kitchen and Coral Seafood.

City records show the site was last owned by Georgia and Theodocios Voyiatzis. It was last assessed by the city at about $3.3 million.
