Companies like FLEXcon can apply for a small loan through SBANE for consulting services.

The Small Business Association of New England has developed a matching grant program intended to provide consulting expertise manufacturers in the state.

The program, announced last week, will grant one-time funds to an eligible small or medium-sized manufacturing company pledging to match any grant monies dollar for dollar.

Grant monies will be used to provide high-powered private consulting expertise to manufacturers undergoing a business transition, according to the association.

Companies can apply for up to $7,500 in matching funds.

A total of $250,000 was appropriated for the grant program through a line item in the state budget when Gov. Charlie Baker approved it earlier this summer, according to a spokesperson.

The application will be available beginning Sept. 5 and the deadline is Oct 6, according to the association.

An information session is being held at 11 a.m. Sept. 21 at John Harvard's Brew House at 1 Worcester Road in Framingham. Admission is free for SBANE members and $25 for non-members.
